I called Whirlpool and after much waiting finally got to someone in the English only department of customer service that assured me that in fact there was problem with this model water ehater and that for $30.00 I could have the repalcement part shipped overnight. I came home and called a local plumber who came out and said that he did not have parts for this model and that I had to call Whirlpool for repalcement parts, he also said that this was the worst model water heater he had ever seen in his 50 years in the industry. We will never buy a Whirlpool product again. In the future I think we will buy directly from them and avoid Lowes all together. My husbands company has recently been bought by General Electric, and we have appliances from them as well and have never had a problem.

I then called Lowes and they said they could do nothing because it would be a breech of contract with Whirlpool to touch this product before a year was up. I called him and left a message 4 hours ago. I thought that if I called and set up a appointment for Wednesday the day after this part was to arrive, I would not have to wait for him until Friday or Monday. She had no map or any knowledge of where we were located, and was giving me city names as far as 250 miles away, such as San Jose. Riverside is one of the biggest counties in California, The closest she could give me was in Anaheim, which is 45 miles away. We were then told that when we got the part 3 days later we need to call a technition. We than asked to be transferred to a supervisor, after waiting for a supervisor we go hung up on. When we told them that this was unexceptable because there is a 3 year old in this house, who needs to have an bath, and unlike an adult, is not going to tolerate a cold bath. They than told us that we would get a part shipped to us and it would arrive in 3 days. This was answered by someone in India, that we could barely understand, and they could not understand us.

We bought a Water heater from Lowes 04-23-2008 it is now 10 months later and the pilot will not stay lit, we call 1-87, and they were useless.
